So if you haven’t heard by now, the Justice League books are revamping again, for the second time since Infinite Crisis. The new Faces of Evil: Promotheus acts a prequel to this new team, focusing on the lesser-seen supervillain who once took down the League single-handed. Apparently, he’s going to take a bigger role later down the line.
Final Crisis #6 debuts in its penultimate issue, but with Marvel winning the crossover game with Secret Invasion’s conclusion, the rise of Dark Reign and the genesis of War of Kings, does anyone really care? Batman is on the cover, hopefully offering some tidbits into the Dark Knight’s final fate – the last remaining question about this oft-delayed series.
Will Nightwing take over the mantle of the Bat? Nightwing #152 might have some answers in an epilogue to Batman RIP, but the issue also acts as a Faces of Evil tie-in starring the newly-returned Ra’s Al Ghul. Pitting Dick Grayson against one of Batman’s most ingenious foes is sure to be interesting, but I hope Nightwing doesn’t get lost in the Faces of Evil shuffle.
