Forget the adventures of the new Batman and Robin! Old Batman fights a bear in Batman Confidential #31! Need I say more?

The last couple issues of Justice League have been spectacularly forgetful, but Starman writer James Robinson hopes to change all of that in the new mini Justice League: Cry for Justice. With Batman gone and Martian Manhunter dead, the League is down in the dumps, until Green Lanterns forms a new team to take the fight right to the bad guys. I’m a huge Starman fan, so I hope Robinson can work his magic with DC’s premiere team, though I’m a bit worried the mini-series format might make this more of a filler than a new era for the Justice League.

The Secret Six have plenty to worry about in issue #1 as they square off with a villain at the center of a superhuman trafficking ring. This villain is ruthless to the core and commands an entire country – and even if the Secret Six are used to being the underdogs, they soon find they aren’t the only ones who have tried – and failed – to stop this menace, as even former Wonder Woman Artemis has been enslaved by this villain’s power. With Gail Simone writing the monthly adventures of our favorite band of DCU misfits though, this series has been been better.

That’s it for this week – though there isn’t that many titles out this week, the ones that are hitting the shelves are must-read’s. Between Reborn and Cry For Justice, Merc with a Mouth and Marvel Divas, there’s plenty of interesting books hitting the shelves this week.
