Comic Rundown: Dark Lantern
Posted by on Oct 13th, 2009

I hate math, but I really doubt Deadpool has appeared in 900 issues, even cumulatively. That said, who cares? Deadpool #900 is a 104 pages of Merc-with-a-Mouth goodness. It’s written and drawn by a whole slew of people, including co-creator Rob Liefield and Marvel Zombies 3 scribe Fred Van Lente. With a James Bond-esque cover, this is one comic Deadpool fans sure don’t want to miss.

Incredible Hercules #136 has the throw-down fans have been waiting for since Hercules got his own book – Hercules, son of Zeus, vs. Thor, Son of Odin. Thor just found out Herc was been impersonating him, setting the stage for the epic fight. The appeal even further enhanced by this book’s tongue-and-cheek attitude, evidence by the mismatched cover.

Nomad: Girl without a World #2 follows the female Bucky introduced – and lost – in the pages of Heroes Reborn. Now she’s returned from her alternate reality origins and taken the identity of Nomad, with the help of Falcon. As she adjusts to life in the mainstream M.U., she also has to contend with two classic Cap villains making her life even more difficult.

In Uncanny X-Men #516, Magneto returns as Nation X begins. Since Scott Summers and rest of the mutants have effectively ceded from the United States to their own island sanctuary, it all seems vaguely familiar. Last time, it ended with the death of 16 million mutants, and since there are less than 200 left, I think the former ruler of Genosha has something to say about it.

…I think I just blew my own mind on a realization.

Think about it: Deadpool is now owned, lock, stock and barrel, by the Walt Disney Corporation.

    Disney. Deadpool.

    Disney. Deadpool.

The possibilities are frightening, but potentially “made of epic win,” as all the cool kids say these days.
