You know things are looking bad when the Black Lanterns are scaring the bejeevus out of even Sinestro Corps and Infinite Crisis nasty Superboy Prime. Now the Black Lanterns are trailing the alternate reality mass murderer, and unfortunately for prime, the Lanterns feed on emotions – which the angry Prime has plenty of. If you read the newly-posted February solicitations, you’ll find a spoiler: things don’t end well for at least one Superboy.
With Blackest Night putting the cross-hairs on all resurrected superheroes, everyone’s still kind of curious about just how Barry Allen fits into everything. Hopefully “Flash: Rebirth #5″ will hold some answers. Barry has to sacrifice his life to save the ones he loved – but what exactly does that in mean when the threshold between life and death blur? And who is this new hero taking up an old speeder mantle? Guess we’ll have to read to find out.
Blackest Night hits the Outsides hard in issue #24 as the Black Lantern Terra – who has tortured and then been repelled by the Titans – now comes calling for her brother Geo-Force’s heart. But like any team lead by Batman, there’s plenty of skeletons in this closet – and now thanks to Blackest Night, every one of them is looking for blood!
And the Superman/Batman book has been, well, weird since the events of Batman RIP. It’s felt like the writers didn’t quite know what to do since Batman’s out of the picture, but this Blackest Night tie-in looks interesting, as the Black Lantern Solomon Grundy (yes, you read that right) takes on Bizzaro and Man-Bat. That’s one super-brawl I’ll pay $2.99 to see!
