Blackest Night: The Flash #1 sees Wally West and Barry Allen team-up to stop the Black Lantern threat, but with plenty of dead villains checkering their combined history, it’s not going to be an easy feat. It’s definitely going to be bad day for the Rogues, who have to contend with newly-risen comrades – some family, some killed by their own hand, and some a little of both!
Blackest Night: Wonder Woman #1 has an equally nightmarish for Wonder Woman as Maxwell Lord, the psychic mastermind whose neck she snapped on national TV, returns for some payback. Plus, with Wonder Woman and a whole slew of other major heroes joining the Black Lantern ranks in the last Blackest Nights, things have just gotten much worse for her friends and allies.
JSA: All-Stars #1 display a brand-new line-up as Magog and Power Girl lead the younger members of the team on an exodus from their older counterparts. New villains and new leadership brings much to my favorite book, which honestly needed to be split into two team just to accommodate the sheer number of characters. But I can’t shake the feeling this is going to become “West Coast Avengers” or even “Forceworks”, especially with Magog leading the charge.
In Red Tornado #4, the android’s family reunion doesn’t go as planned when he finds his brothers Red Volcano and Red Tornado gathering an arsenal of WMDs of their own nefarious purpose. Red Tornado and his newly-found sister Red Torpedo have to stop them, but if you can’t trust family, who can you trust?
That’s it for this week – with Iron Man 2 heating up Marvel’s end-of-the-year releases and Blackest Night darkening DC’s, you should have plenty to keep you occupied.
